10 Tips for Suit Wearers
Here's a few quick tips and reminders on how to look your best when getting suited and booted this weekend!
10 TIPS TO TAKE NOTE OF:
Tip 1) The tip of your tie should always meet your belt line, or hang just above it.
Tip 2) Your belt should be the same (or almost the same) colour as your shoes.
Tip 3) Make sure your tie and pocket square are different.
Tip 4) Don't go sockless! Just wear socks.
Tip 5) Tie bars are made to be worn between the 3rd and 4th button hole on your shirt and should never be wider than the tie you are wearing.
Tip 6) Try and match (as best you can) the width of your tie to the width of the lapel on your jacket.
Tip 7) Shirt sleeve cuffs should be exposed past your jacket sleeve about half an inch, around the same amount that your collar should be visible above the back of your jacket.
Tip 8) Make sure your socks are long enough to cover your leg if you cross your legs when sitting down (nobody wants to see your hairy calf).
Tip 9) As a rule of thumb its usually best to opt for a tie that is darker than your shirt.
Tip 10) Avoid over-accessorising. If you're already wearing a pocket square and a tie bar, maybe reconsider the lapel pin.
Have an awesome weekend!
